(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) – On August 17, 2016, shortly before 4 a.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers observed a Mazda M3 occupied by two people travelling on Binning St. W. in Listowel. The vehicle’s licence plate displayed a temporary validation sticker which when checked with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation data base was found to be expired.
OPP spoke to the male and female located inside the vehicle. Through further investigation a quantity of drugs, drug paraphernalia, money and knives were located and seized. The male driver and the female passenger were arrested and charged.
35-year-old Peter Allen BRENNAN of Wellesley, and Stephanie MAYNARD of Kitchener have been jointly charged with the following Controlled Drugs and Substances Act offences:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Marihuana for the purpose of trafficking
Possession of a Schedule III Substance – MDMA for the purpose of trafficking
Possession of a Schedule IV Substance – Lorazepam for the purpose of trafficking
They have also been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
Possession of a prohibited weapon
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Peter BRENNAN has also been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
Fail to comply with probation order
Stephanie MAYNARD has also been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offence:
Failing to comply with condition of undertaking given to officer in charge or peace officer
Both charged persons were held for a bail hearing at Stratford Bail Court on August 17, 2016.
