(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit has laid charges in the robbery of a retail financial services location.
On October 17, 2016, at approximately 8:00 pm, a lone suspect entered the business situated along the 300 block of Dalhousie Street. The suspect brandished a knife and made a demand for money. Police were notified and the suspect was arrested at the scene by responding Patrol officers without incident. Nothing had been taken and there were no injuries.
Meladul AHMADZAI, age 24 of Ottawa, is charged with the following offences:
* Robbery
* Assault with a weapon
* Possession of a weapon
Mr. Ahmadzai appears in court on October 18, 2016.
