Media Release – Sunday, May 24, 2015

Chatham-Kent Police responded to 107 calls over a 24 hour period and four people were arrested.

Break and Enter to garage in Chatham

On May 23rd, 2015, Chatham-Kent Police were called to a residence on Parkview Court., Chatham for a break and enter to a garage that occurred between 3:00am and 7:00am, where two bicycles were stolen. A male bronze Fuji Hybrid and a male red and white Infinity Cosco bikes totalling approximately $800. Breach of Recognizance arrest

Chatham-Kent Police on May 23rd, 2015 attended an address in Shrewsbury in regards to a bonfire. While there, police observed a 19 year old Blenheim man, who was on a recognizance of bail from a prior incident. The male was arrested for breaching one of his bail conditions by associating with another male person that he was instructed not to by the courts. The accused was arrested and was transported to HQ and held for bail.

Intoxicated persons arrested

At approximately midnight on May 24th, 2015, police responded to a family disturbance call on Timmins Crescent in Chatham. A 38 year old Chatham female was arrested for being intoxicated, charged under the Liquor Licence Act and lodged at HQ until she was sober.

In a separate incident, at approximately 3:00am on May 25th, 2015, a 24 year old Chatham man and a 23 year old London man were arrested in downtown Chatham for being intoxicated in a public place, charged under the Liquor Licence Act. Both were lodged until sober.

Break and Enter to residence

On May 24th, 2015, at approximately 3:00am, an unknown person entered an unlocked rear door of a residence on Kendall Street in Wallaceburg. The suspect removed a wallet, purse and two HP laptop computers (unknown serial numbers) for a total value of $1900. Vehicle Fire

On May 24th, 2015 at approximately 5:00am, officers located a vehicle on fire on Murray Street in Wallaceburg at an auto repair shop. Unknown person(s) set fire to the tires on a vehicle in the lot.
