(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On November 16, 2017 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Grey-Bruce and Huron-Perth OPP Community Street Crime Units (CSCU), Owen Sound Police Service Drugs and Intelligence Unit and the OPP West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence on St. Andrews Drive in the Municipality of Meaford.
As a result of the execution of the search warrant, police seized cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and cannabis marihuana. The estimated combined value of the seized controlled substances was $8480.00.
Police also seized offence related property consisting of cell phones, digital scales and packaging materials. The estimated value of the seized offence related property was $500.
The suspect was arrested in Hanover with assistance of the Hanover Police Service.
Thirty-nine year old Richard Lloyd MICKS, of the Municipality of Meaford, was charged with the following offences:
Possession of heroin for the purposes of trafficking
Possession of cocaine for the purposes of trafficking
Possession of methamphetamine
Possession of cannabis marihuana
Breach Recognizance (Possession of drugs)
Breach Recognizance (Possession of ammunition)
Breach Recognizance (Possession of trafficking equipment)
The accused was held for a bail hearing scheduled for November 17, 2017. He remains in custody pending a video remand scheduled for November 23, 2017.
