(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – On March 17, 2017, at approximately 10:34 p.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Highway 401 eastbound, near Dorchester Road.
The female driver of the motor vehicle (a red GMC sport utility vehicle (SUV)) provided false information to officers regarding her identity and she was placed under arrest.
As a result of the police investigation, 30-year-old Angel MCCOOL, from Stratford, Ontario, has been charged with obstruct peace officer, personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution, or obstruct justice (identity fraud) (x2), possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 (X4), fail to comply with recognizance, and fail to comply with probation order, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
She was further charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) with possession of schedule I substance – methamphetamine, and possession of schedule II substance – cannabis resin – over 1 gram.
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in the London, Ontario, courts.
