(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit has laid charges in connection to a recent retail robbery.
On January 13, 2016, at approximately 2:50 am, a lone male suspect entered a convenience store situated along the 3300 block of McCarthy Road. The suspect waited for a customer to leave and then approached the clerk with a knife. The suspect took an undisclosed quantity of cash and cigarettes. There were no injuries. On January 15, 2016, a patrol officer took a shoplifting complaint from a grocery store also situated along the 3300 block of McCarthy Road. A short time later, the patrol officer located the suspect in the area and made an arrest without incident. The suspect was linked to the January 13 robbery.
Aidan SCOTT, age 22 of Ottawa, is charged with single counts each of robbery, possession of a weapon, and theft under $5000.
SCOTT appeared in court on January 16, 2016, and appears next on January 18, 2016.
