Huron East Mayor Bernie MacLellan made his first appearance at Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich Monday, to address two charges of assault with a weapon.
December 21, police responded to a call on Market Road in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township. Bernie MacLellan allegedly held a rubber mallet in a threatening manner towards two people during an argument.
Bernie MacLellan was arrested, then released on a promise to appear in court. The matter was put over Monday and will be spoken to at his next court date, March 11.
