(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – A 20 year old driver on his way into Goderich for dinner will now have to answer to a Racing charge in Provincial court. Shortly after 9:00 p.m. on December 1, 2014 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer spotted a Dodge Charger travelling southbound on Bluewater Veteran’s Highway near Sheppardton Line at an extremely high rate of speed. The officer was following behind the speeding vehicle and was able to confirm the vehicle’s speed with a RADAR device. The vehicle’s speed was locked at a speed of 151 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.
A traffic stop was completed and the driver was charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle.
Matthew WARD, 20 years of age from Amherstburg will have to attend Provincial Offences Act Court – Goderich on January 6, 2015 to answer to the charge. His motor vehicle was also impounded for a seven day period.
