(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Thursday February 03, 2011, shortly after 5 p.m. a Perth County OPP officer recognized a male behind the wheel of a pickup as being a disqualified driver. The truck was being driven on Trafalgar Street in Mitchell. The officer activated the cruisers emergency lights and siren, but the driver sped away. The pickup truck tried to evade police and pulled into a residential driveway where the driver was subsequently arrested.
Matthew McDonald-McAlpine (27) of the Municipality of West Perth was charged with “drive while being disqualified†and with “flight from Police Officerâ€. He was released on a Promise to Appear and has to attend Criminal Court in Stratford on March 07, 2011 to answer to these charges. He was also charged for operating a motor vehicle without insurance under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act of Ontario.
