Mathieu CECIRE Faces Numerous Firearm Charges

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service has arrested a man with a gun.

Members of the Direct Action Response Team (DART), while on patrol on March 19th, 2015, at 7:55 pm, noticed a male asleep at the wheel of his vehicle. The vehicle was on Dumaurier Avenue.

Officers stopped by the vehicle and noticed that the sleeping male only had his foot on the brake and that the vehicle was running. During the interaction a firearm was located in the man’s waistband.

As a result, Mathieu CECIRE, 32 years old of Ottawa, was charged with:

CC 86 (1) Use/Handle/Store Firearm Carelessly

CC 88 (1) Possess Weapon/Dangerous to Public Peace

CC 90 (1) Carry Concealed Weapon

CC 91 (1) Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Without Holding a Licence and Registration Certificate

CC 92 (1) Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly Not Holding a Licence and Registration Certificate

CC 94 (1) Occupy Motor Vehicle with Firearm

CC 95 (1) Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm

CC 96 (1) Possess Firearm Obtained by Crime

CC 117.01 (1) Possess Firearm While Prohibited x 4

CC 145 (3) Fail to Comply Condition of Judicial Release x 5

CC 254 (5) Fail to Provide Breath Sample/Approved Screening Device/Peace Officer Demand

Cecire is due to appear in court today.
