(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Wednesday July 03, 2013, the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Marine Unit conducted patrols of Wildwood Lake. This patrol was part of scheduled marine patrols on the lake this summer.
The Huron and Wellington County marine units will be assisting the Perth County OPP by patrolling Wildwood Lake. Constable Jamie Stanley who was involved in yesterday’s patrols said, “It is interesting to see boaters reactions when they see our OPP boat on Wildwood Lake. Most operators are very pleased when we talk to them and answer general marine safety, equipment and licencing questionsâ€Â.
Constable Stanley further advised that of all the vessels checked on the lake and at the marina, no violations were identified.
OPP Marine patrols continue at Wildwood Lake throughout the summer. All boaters are urged to always wear a life jacket, ensure all safety equipment is on board and that vessels are not overloaded.
