(BLUEWATER, ON) On Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at approximately 4:30 p.m. a Huron County OPP officer was dispatched to patrol for a possible impaired driver. A concerned citizen observed a red Toyota travelling southbound on Bluewater Highway in an unsafe manner. Officers arrived to find the Toyota off the roadway and in the ditch. Upon speaking to the female driver the officer observed her to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired driving.
As a result of the investigation, Marilyn REIDY (66) of Grand Bend, ON has been charged with one count of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to section 253(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada and Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor contrary to section 32(1) Liquor Licence Act. She will answer to the charges in the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter on January 26, 2012. LP11352017
