(HURON EAST, ON) – Last night around 11:15 p.m. a grey Pontiac Montana van entered a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) checkpoint located at the intersection of Blyth Road and Brussels Line in Walton. While speaking with the driver the officer immediately detected a strong odour of an illegal drug coming from inside the vehicle. The officer questioned the driver and he handed over a small quantity of suspected marijuana. He was immediately arrested and later released.
David PEPPER, 47, from Huron-Kinloss has been charged with: Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to section 4(1) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on July 8, 2013.
