(MAPLETON TWP, ON) – On Monday September 30, 2013 at approximately 5:15am, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a call regarding a single vehicle collision on Side Road 19 approximately 1 km north of County Road 8 in Mapleton Township involving a farm tractor.
OPP officers responded to the scene along with Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Mapleton Township Fire and Rescue.
Investigation revealed that Howard Brubacher aged 22 of Mapleton Twp was operating a Case International tractor northbound on Side Road 19 accompanied by his father Orvie Brubacher aged 47, also of Mapleton Twp, when the tractor left the roadway and rolled over. The passenger, Orvie Brubacher was pronounced deceased at the scene and the driver was uninjured.
Wellington County OPP assisted by Highway Safety Division (HSD) officers are investigating the collision.
Side Rd. 19 between County 8 and the 12th Line of Mapleton Twp remains closed at this time as the investigation is still ongoing.
