(Ottawa) In the early morning hours of January 25th, 2015, the Ottawa Police Service arrested a 19 year-old man, Rashawn HAMILTON (from the Montreal area), who was wanted by the Montreal Police Service for an attempt homicide.
On January 24th, 2015, Montreal Police relayed information to the Ottawa Police Service that HAMILTON was possibly in the Ottawa area. Over a period of several hours, multiple police teams canvassed areas of interest. This canvassing ultimately generated a tip that led to a possible location for HAMILTON; the information received was verified and led to his arrest, which occurred without incident.
HAMILTON is currently in our custody. Montreal Police will be escorting him back to their jurisdiction.
