(KINCARDINE TWP, ON) – On December 2, 2014 at 5:56 am, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a farm accident along Concession 7 in Kincardine Township. Officers attended with members of the Tiverton Fire Department and Bruce County Paramedics to find that a man had become trapped in a corn picker in a row of a large corn field
46 year old Brian McCONNELL was pronounced dead at the scene.
The South Bruce OPP is continuing to investigate this incident along with the Ministry of Labour and Office of the Coroner.
The South Bruce OPP recognizes that farming can be a stressful occupation with long hours, large fields to work and tight deadlines. Farm owners / operators are asked to work within their limits and always ensure they keep personal safety in mind.
