Barrie Police responded to a call for a male walking around in the area of Burton and Essa after 6pm tonight. He appeared to be disoriented and the caller was concerned for his safety. The investigating officer quickly determined that the 45 year old man of no fixed address was drunk. He was not in a position to look after himself due to his intoxicated state. He was arrested for his own protection and taken into custody where he will remain until he is in a sober condition. Upon release, he will be served with a Provincial Offences ticket and fine to pay.
