Man Smashes Hospital Window With Chair Then Attempts Carjacking With Golf Club

Incident: On Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at approximately 3:15 p.m. a man was at the Brantford General Hospital when he became disgruntled. He attended a common area where he picked up a steel chair and started to smash out a window. The man picked up a piece of the shattered glass and threatened to harm staff members. He then fled the facility. Once outside, he located a golf club and threatened a man and woman in a vehicle demanding that they drive him somewhere. They ignored him and drove away from the area. Brantford Police were contacted and a detailed description of the man was provided. The man was located a short distance away and arrested.

As a result, a 37 year-old Brantford man was charged with Assault with a Weapon x’s 2, Uttering Threats x’s 2, and Mischief over $5000. He was held for a bail hearing.
