(KINCARDINE, ON) – On December 6th, 2010 at 1:43 pm, the South Bruce OPP received a complaint about a pushy, aggressive salesman from a resident along Park Street in Kincardine. The caller described a beat up old truck with the name Family Food Club, Mississauga on the side.
The truck had a freezer in the back and the driver was selling frozen meat door–to-door. There is no obligation on a home owner to allow a sales person into your house. If they’re inside your house and you don’t want them there, ask them to leave. If they won’t leave, call the police and we will remove them for you. “Failing to leave premises when directed†is an arrest able offence under the Trespass to Property Act that carries an immediate fine of $70, or a maximum fine at court of $2,000.
