(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Monday June 28, 2010 shortly before 12:30 p.m. a 79 year old Municipality of North Perth man was using his lawn tractor to cut the grass edge along Line 88 in front of his property east of Wallaceville.
Investigation revealed that the lawn tractor veered onto the travelled portion of Line 88 directly in front of a west bound mini van. The 31 year old Harriston female which was operating the mini van, made an evasive manoeuvre onto the east bound lane in an attempt to avoid a collision. She was unable to avoid the tractor and the two vehicles collided in the east bound lane of Line 88.
The impact caused damage to both vehicles and resulted in the tractor operator to receive non life threatening injuries. The elderly male was transported to Listowel Memorial Hospital by Perth County Ambulance.
Investigation into this collision is continuing.
