On Wednesday September 23rd, 2015 at approximately 9:30 p.m. a 24 year old Owen Sound resident was approached by a male party in the downtown core of the city. Without warning the 29 year old male punched the 24year old man in the face knocking him to the ground. The male party then threatened that he would continue his assault unless the victim gave him $10.00. The scared victim turned over the money to the much larger assailant who then left the area on foot.
The Owen Sound Police were called and after leaning the description of the assailant, officers believed it to be a male party who arrived in the City from the Woodstock area earlier in the year. Further investigation revealed that their initial suspicions were correct. On Thursday September 24th, 2015 the Owen Sound Police located and arrested Kyle Wheeler. Wheeler was charged with one count of robbery and a count of fail to comply with conditions of his probation order. He was held in custody to appear in the Owen Sound Court on Friday morning to answer to the charges.
The victim received minor injuries which did not require medical treatment.
