On Thursday, May 21, 2015 just before 5pm, a 36 year old male from St. Catharine’s went to the Region of Waterloo Airport and after making a failed attempted to get onto the tarmac from inside of the airport terminal, jumped a barbed wire fence and gained access to the runway. The male got into the back seat of small airplane that had two occupants. The pilot of the plane taxied the plane towards the hangar. The male, who exhibited signs of being distraught and upset, exited the plane without further incident. Waterloo Regional Police arrived and arrested the male for 2 counts of Mischief, Trespass to Property and Endangering Safety of an Aircraft or Airport. There were no injuries sustained in this incident.
