On Friday April 28 th , 2017 at approximately 6:00 p.m. the Owen Sound Police responded to the 900 block of 2 nd Avenue East, Owen Sound with regards to two males fighting. The male parties had left the immediate area just prior to the officer’s arrival. Upon further investigation officers located a man with a bloody face, apparent injury to his nose and face, claiming that he had been assaulted.
The 44 year old victim had lent $60 to a 26 year old acquaintance a month earlier. The acquaintance continually neglected to pay the victim back even after several requests had been made. On April 28 th the victim observed this individual enjoying a drink in a down town bar at which time an argument commenced between the two. The men eventually parted ways only to meet up again in the 900 block of 2 nd Avenue East at which time the victim was head butted then punched several times by this male party as well as being threatened.
The suspect was later located by police and arrested without incident.
The suspect, identified as 26 year old Cody Quick had arrived to the city from the Niagara Region earlier in the year, was held in custody on the charges of fail to comply with probation order, utter threats and assault causing bodily harm. He was presented by way of audio before a bail court held in London, Ontario on Saturday morning at which time he was remanded in to custody to appear next in the Owen Sound Court of Justice on May 1 st , 2017.
