Man Charged With Theft From Grotto

(Ottawa)— Ottawa Police charged a man in relation to two separate thefts that occurred at the Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto near Montreal Road and Cantin Street in Vanier.

At 11:20 p.m. on August 14, Ottawa Police officers witnessed a man stealing cash from the donation box at the Grotto. He was arrested without incident.

Derek BOUDREAU, age 35, of Ottawa, is charged with Theft Under $5000 and five counts of Failure to Comply with a Court Order under the Criminal Code of Canada.

On August 13, two men were arrested for a similar incident at the Grotto.

BOUDREAU is charged in relation to that incident as well.

He appeared in court today.
