The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a shoplifting complaint in Chatham.
Yesterday afternoon, the man entered the Home Hardware Building Centre on Keil Drive. The man concealed a measuring tape and package of cable ties in his coat pocket. As the man approached the exit doors, he was stopped by an employee as he made no attempt to pay for the items valued at approximately $38.00.
The 40-year-old Blenheim man has been charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
