The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a disturbance in Blenheim.
In December 2013, the man was released from custody here in Chatham-Kent with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was to abstain from the consumption of alcohol or other intoxicating substances. The man was also released from custody by another police service with similar conditions.
Just before 6:00 p.m. last night, police responded to the area of John Street and Wall Street in regards to a disturbance. Officers located one of the men involved and through investigation detected an odour of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. The man was arrested and upon being searched, was found to be in possession of a bottle of alcohol and drug paraphernalia including suspected morphine.
The 21-year-old Blenheim man has been charged with two counts of failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
