Man charged with Domestic Related Offences

At approximately 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday December 23rd, 2014, Chatham-Kent police attended an domestic related incident in the community of Pain Court. A 40 year old resident, who was intoxicated, woke up his girlfriend and began to argue with her about their relationship. The argument quickly escalated and the girlfriend told the man to leave. He refused and pinned her down, however, she was able to free herself. When she tried to use the phone to call police, he broke the phone. Eventually, the girlfriend was able to escape from the home and called police. Police later located this man and took him into custody. He was charged with Assault (two counts), Mischief under $5000, and Forcible Confinement. He was then held pending a bail hearing.
