Man Charged with Break and Enter

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a break and enter in Chatham.

Yesterday morning, police responded to a break and enter at a vacant residence on Grand Avenue West. Upon checking the property, the homeowner observed that a basement window had been smashed. Officers searched the residence and found a man inside the home. The man was in possession of a backpack containing a crow bar, wrench, pliers and assorted screwdrivers.

The 55-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with break and enter and being in possession of break-in tools. He was transported to court pending a bail hearing.
