Man Charged with Break and Enter

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a break and enter in Chatham.

On July 17, 2014, the man was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was to remain in his residence on Colborne Street between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Yesterday morning, around 6:30 a.m. a homeowner on Raleigh Street arrived home to find a red tool box on his front porch and his front door wide open. Once inside, the homeowner observed the man sleeping on his couch. Police were contacted and the man was arrested.

The 31-year-old Chatham man has been charged with break and enter and failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
