Man Charged with Being Intoxicated in a Public Place

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following an incident in Wallaceburg last night.

Around 6:00 p.m. the man called police reporting an argument with his girlfriend over a cell phone. The man met the officers outside in the parking lot next to his residence on Reaume Avenue. The man had been drinking and was slurring his words. As the officers tried to investigate his complaint, the man became uncooperative and belligerent by yelling and swearing.

The 27-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place. He was held in custody until sober and released.
