The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a disturbance in Chatham yesterday.
Around 5:45 p.m. a man confronted his mother at her residence and demanded money. When the woman offered her concerns about his spending habits, the man slapped the woman’s hands, causing the bowl she was holding to fall and break. The man then went to the living room and smashed a lamp against a wall.
The 25-year-old Chatham man has been charged with assault and mischief under $5000. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
