Man Charged with Assault

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a domestic disturbance in Chatham yesterday.

Just before noon, police responded to a residence on Wellington Street in regards to an incident of domestic violence. A man and woman began arguing when it escalated into a physical altercation. It is alleged that the man pushed the woman to the ground.

Around 12:30 p.m. officers located the man on Park Street and he was arrested. The 28-year-old Chatham man has been charged with assault. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
