The York Regional Police Homicide Unit has charged a 24-year-old man with Manslaughter in connection with the death of his 49-year-old father.
On Monday, January 1, 2018, shortly after 4:30 a.m., York Regional Police were called to a residence in the area of Bayview Avenue and Highway 407 in the City of Markham for reports of an injured person. When officers arrived, they located a man who was unconscious and not breathing. CPR was performed, however the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The deceased, a 49-year-old man from Markham, and the accused, a 24-year-old man from Markham, will not be identified to protect the identities of additional children and witnesses involved.
