The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Yesterday morning around 11:15 a.m. an officer on general patrol observed a man riding a bike in the area of Queen Street and Edgar Street in Chatham. The officer recognized the man and knew that he was currently wanted for the offences of being in possession of stolen property and failing to attend court.
The man attempted to elude police however he was taken into custody on Pine Street. Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of marijuana.
The 32-year-old Chatham man was charged with drug possession and transported to the court house pending a bail hearing.
