Man arrested in Sexual Assault investigation, Pharmacy Avenue and Ellesmere Road area, Tharmenthiran Ponnampalam, 30, faces two charges, Police believe there may be more victims

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a Sexual Assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

– on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at approximately 1:45 p.m., a woman boarded an eastbound TTC bus at York Mills Station

– the woman got off the bus and was followed by a man to a bus shelter in the Pharmacy Avenue/Ellesmere Road area

– the man engaged the woman in conversation, then sexually assaulted her

On Wednesday, April 22, 2015, Tharmenthiran Ponnampalam, 30, of Toronto, was arrested. He was charged with:

1) Sexual Assault

2) Sexual Interference

He is scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Thursday, April 23, 2015, 10 a.m., room 412.

Police believe there may be more victims.
