Man Arrested In London After Pointing Firearm And Death Threats

Friday February 17, 2017 London Police responded to the area of St. Julien Street and Hamilton Road in the City of London, for report of a male pointing a firearm. Multiple officers attended the dispatch location. Information was received the male fled in a vehicle.

Upon further investigation the male was located by police in the area of Queen Street and English Street and taken into custody. Members of the London Police obtained a Criminal Code search warrant which was executed and a firearm was recovered.

The male has been identified as Dennis Smibert (41 years) of No Fixed address.

Dennis Smibert is charged with the following Criminal Code offences;

-Three counts of threats to cause death; contrary to section 264.1(1)

-Two counts of pointing a firearm; contrary to section 87(1)

-One count of careless transportation of a prohibited firearm; contrary to section 86(1)

-One count of careless storage of a prohibited firearm; contrary to section 86(1)

-One count of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public; contrary to section 88(1)

-One count of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized; contrary to section92(1)

-One count of occupy motor vehicle with prohibited firearm; contrary to section 94(1)

-One count of carry a concealed weapon; contrary to section 90(1)
