Man arrested in Bank Robbery investigation

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of an arrest connected to the robberies of four banks

It is alleged that:

– between Friday, March 13, 2015, and Saturday, March 14, 2015, a man attended four banks in the east end of Toronto

– the man approached a teller at the counter and produced a hold-up note

– the note indicated that this was a bank robbery and he was demanding money

– the teller complied with the demand and the man fled with a quantity of money

– there were no injuries

On Saturday, March 14, 2015, police observed the man in the Kingston Road and Morningside Avenue area. As a result of an investigation by Hold Up, the man was arrested.

Hughen Anthony Smith, 42, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) four counts of Robbery

He was scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Monday, March 16, 2015.
