The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man wanted on outstanding warrants.
On September 28, 2014, the man began arguing with his girlfriend. The incident escalated into a physical confrontation when he grabbed her by the neck and pushed her up against a wall. The man fled the residence prior to police arrival. Attempts were made to locate him, however when unsuccessful, a warrant for his arrest for the offences of assault and overcome resistance to commit an offence was issued. The man was also wanted for breaching his probation order.
Last night, a citizen at Tim Hortons recognized the man from the Wanted List and contacted police. Officers located the man inside the Keil Drive business and he was taken into custody. The 27-year-old Chatham man has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
