Man Arrested For Prank/False Calls To London Police

On Sunday March 5th at approximately 7:33 p.m the London Police Service responded to a residence located on Wharncliffe Road South after a male contacted Police claiming that numerous individuals walked into the address carrying weapons. Approximately 45 minutes later, Police received a second call to the same location reporting the individuals had returned to the address. Police responded to each call and the resulting investigation revealed both were false 911 calls.

On Monday March 6th, at approximately 12:40 a.m., the London Police Service responded to a business on Wellington Road after a male contacted Police reporting individuals had entered the business carrying weapons. A male contacted the London Police Service a short time later reporting similar reports at another business on Wharncliffe Rd S. Police responded to each call and the resulting investigation revealed the calls to be false 911 calls.

As a result of both investigations, the London Police Service have arrested and charged a 33 year old London man with 4 counts of Public Mischief contrary to Section 140(1)(c) of the Criminal Code of Canada in relation to these calls.
