Man Arrested After Throwing Rock At Backhoe

On May 30, 2016 at 5:00 p.m., Police received information that a male was yelling at LRT construction workers and waving a knife in the area of King Street and Francis Street, Kitchener.

The male allegedly threw a rock at one of the workers who was seated in a backhoe, breaking the front window. Police arrived on scene and located the accused and observed a knife handle sticking out from his backpack. The accused was arrested and charged with Weapons Dangerous, Assault with a Weapon x2, Utter Threats and Mischief under $5000. He was held for a showcause hearing. No one was injured as a result of the incident.
