(Ottawa) — On the evening of Saturday the 15th day of August, the Ottawa Police Service responded to several calls of gunshots being fired in the 300 block of Prince Albert Street. Upon arrival, officers located a bullet hole in the windshield of a minivan parked approximately 1 kilometre away. It appeared that the bullet had ricocheted off the ground and hit the parked vehicle. A short time later a 27 year old male called 911 to report that he had been shot in the leg. This telephone call was made from the vicinity of where the shots had been fired.
Guns and Gangs Unit investigators interviewed the male who was uncooperative. It was determined that both occurrences were related. The investigation is ongoing and is considered to be gang-related.
