Male Looking For Fight Runs When Police Show Up

Shortly after midnight Barrie Police were called to McDonald’s on Barrie View Drive regarding a male that was out of control and throwing chairs around the restaurant and trying to fight other customers. When police arrived in the area they located the male outside but once he observed cruisers he ran from police.

After a short foot pursuit, the male was contained behind Staples. The male was continuing to be aggressive towards officers and as a result of his assaultive behavior police deployed a Conducted Energy Weapon (Taser) to gain control of the male and take him into custody.

It was found after the male was arrested that he was also involved in also damaging property at the Super 8 on Bryne Drive.

The 28 year-old Barrie male was transported to Barrie Police where he was processed for 2 counts of mischief.
