(Ottawa) The Ottawa Police Service is investigating a sexual assault that occurred in Riverain Park, along North River Road in Vanier during the evening of January 6th and seeking witnesses.
On January 6 between 6:30pm and 10:30pm, the male victim, in his late teens, walked along Marguerite Avenue to Washington Avenue and into Riverain Park. When he got to the Park, he was struck and fell unconscious. When he came to, he was naked and had been sexually assaulted. He walked away from the Park, having found his discarded clothing, and was soon assisted by an unidentified couple and taken to a safe place nearby.
The incident was reported to police on January 7th.
While there is no suspect(s) description available, investigators have confirmed that the victim was wearing an orange and yellow reflective vest as he headed to the Park.
