Incident: On Thursday, March 17, 2016 at approximately 11:30 p.m. a woman contacted the Brantford Police Service to report a domestic dispute. The woman advised that at approximately 10:00 p.m. she attended the residence of her ex-boyfriend to retrieve some belongings as the relationship was over. When she got to the residence, the man immediately grabbed her by the coat and struck her in the face numerous times. The man then pulled her into the residence and threw her on the bed, before sitting on her and continuing to hit her. The man refused to let her leave his house, took her cell phone and car keys and demanded that she drive him numerous locations. While in the motor vehicle, the man controlled all the woman’s movements. The woman was able to get to a Tim Horton’s on Henry Street and stated that she had to use the washroom. Once inside, she was able to contact the Brantford Police Service for help. Police attended the area, located the male and arrested him. As a result, a 34 year-old Brantford man is charged with Assault, Intimidation, and Forcible Confinement. He was held for a bail hearing.
