(Ottawa) On the 10th of January, a male wanted in a series of thefts in the Hintonberg /Wellington Village area of the west end, was arrested behind a local establishment, shortly after he had stolen a few wallets from unsuspecting victims nearby. The accused had been involved in a spree of thefts and break-ins since late December 2014, when he stole a car in that neighborhood.
Local business owners had been alerted to these ongoing crimes by the community officer through a series of BIA bulletins. Today, when the accused was spotted in this area, the police were contacted and he was eventually apprehended with much of the stolen property on his person.
Marc Gilles Pilon, aged 45 of Gatineau will appear in court today and will be facing sixteen criminal code charges which include: theft of a vehicle, possession stolen property, break and enter, several counts of breach of probation and possession of break and enter tools.
