Male Charged with Pointing A Firearm

On Friday April 17th 2015, police responded to the area of Golfdale Road and Glenwood Drive, in the City of Barrie upon receiving a call that a male had been threatened with a handgun.

Shortly after 3:30 pm on Glenwood Drive, the 23 year-old accused male exited his vehicle, described as a Hummer and had a verbal argument with the 27 year-old victim. During the incident the accused pointed, what appeared to be a hand gun at the victim while threatening him.

The accused quickly fled the area along with three other unidentified occupants in his vehicle upon witnesses calling 911. Both males are known to one another and from the Barrie area.

Police located the accused at a residence on Golfdale Road, where he was arrested for pointing a firearm. The accused was transported to the Barrie Police Station where he was charged and placed into custody pending a bail hearing.

Police are continuing the investigation and a search warrant is being sought for the residence at which the accused was arrested in efforts to locate the firearm.
