A 25 year old male driver from the Cumberland area (near Ottawa) was arrested and charged with several offences including Impaired Driving, Fail to Remain at the Scene of Accident, Breach of Undertaking.
At approx. 6:05 am on the 4th August a vehicle went through the T intersection located at St. Clair Parkway and Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg and struck the ditch bank. The now accused was able to free the car and get it going at a very slow speed and was arrested as he tried to cross the bridge onto Walpole Island. He was remanded in custody until a bail hearing on Tuesday in Chatham.
