Lost Toddler Reunited With Mother

Occurrence Type: Lost toddler reunited with mother

Occurrence #: BA15018467

Date: Thursday, April 16, 2015 – 3:00pm

Barrie Police were called to the area of Stanley Street in regards to a toddler walking around the area unsupervised. When officers arrived they found a 3-yr-old boy wearing only his t-shirt, diapers and boots without any adult supervision. Officers knocked door-to-door speaking to citizens in the area and after 45 minutes they were finally able to locate the family of the toddler.

Police were told by the mother that she had put her son down for a nap and at some point shortly after, the toddler made his way out the rear patio door and eventually out of the yard where he started wandering down the street. At the same time police were in the area conducting their search for the child residence/parents, the mother was also frantically searching the neighborhood for her son.

The situation could have been much different if not for the actions of the citizens that contacted police when they found the toddler walking alone unsupervised.

The child was safe and unharmed when reunited with his mother.
