LONDON, ON (December 13, 2017) – Following the announcement of the November 22, 2017, sexual assault charge laid against a 41-year-old London Police Service officer, and as a result of further investigation, two additional charges have been laid in relation to off-duty incidents in London.
The officer, who is also facing separate charges by the Waterloo Regional Police Service, is now also charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences by the London Police Service:
Breach of undertaking; and
Criminal harassment.
Due to the nature of the allegations and to protect the identity of the victims in both investigations, the officer’s name will not be released. It is the usual policy of the London Police Service to not release the name of any accused if the accused was involved in a relationship with the victim and releasing the name could identify the victim.
The officer remains suspended with pay. Provisions of the Police Services Act do not allow for the suspension of a member without pay.
The accused is expected to appear in court on the criminal harassment charge on December 21, 2017.
