(SOUTH BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – The South Bruce OPP has been investigating vehicle thefts across the detachment area recently. In an effort to help prevent these thefts, the South Bruce OPP is sending another reminder of the Auto Theft Protection Tips from the “Lock it or Lose it†initiative:
Always roll up your vehicle’s windows, lock the doors and pocket the key
Never leave your vehicle unattended while it is running
If you have a garage, use it. Lock the doors as well as the vehicle
Never leave your car keys in plain view or an easily accessible area
Keep your vehicle registration and proof of insurance on you. Don’t leave them in the vehicle
Always park your vehicle in a well-lit area
Never leave valuable objects or packages in full view. Put them in the trunk
Anyone with information on a suspicious vehicle or a suspicious person is asked to contact the South Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.
The South Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or send a web-tip to crimestop-gb.org, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
